2025 Iowa Dorset Queen - Emma Cook

IMG_20250518_174130(6).jpg

Our 2025 Iowa Dorset Queen is Miss Emma Cook! She is the daughter of Travis and Cassie Cook and is from Colfax, Iowa. She is 18 years old and a recent graduate of Colfax-Mingo High School.

Emma was involved in many activities throughout high school including volleyball, wrestling (where she was a state qualifier), track, softball, youth group, and the National Honor Society.

She has been an active member of her 4-H club, Poweshiek Partners, and her school’s FFA chapter, where she earned her Iowa Degree.

Emma joined 4-H in 4th grade but didn’t begin showing sheep until high school. With the support of mentors and friends, she has shown Dorset sheep at the Iowa Junior Show, Jasper County Fair, and the Iowa State Fair.

She enjoys the friendships and new experiences that come from showing, and credits showing sheep with helping her grow beyond her comfort zone and gain valuable lifelong skills.

Emma will attend Iowa State University this fall, where she plans to major in engineering.

She is honored to serve as the 2025 Iowa Dorset Queen and looks forward to encouraging others to find joy in raising and showing Dorsets—just as she has.

Congratulations, Emma!
