Alexis Kolbet is the daughter of Mason and Ashlie Kolbet and is from Rudd, Iowa. Alexis is a recent graduate of Osage High School and will be attending Iowa State University this fall to major in Animal Science, with plans to continue on to veterinary school and become a mixed animal veterinarian.

Throughout high school, Alexis was involved in wrestling, where she qualified for the Iowa Girls State Wrestling Tournament twice, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She has also been an active member of her local 4-H and FFA chapter, earning her Iowa FFA Degree and participating in numerous leadership, career development, and livestock-related activities. Through FFA, Alexis completed a Sheep Production SAE consisting of both a Dorset and crossbred flock. Her proficiency application earned a gold rating at the state level and advanced to nationals, where it also received a gold rating.

Alexis has been involved in the sheep industry from a young age through her family's flock, Kolbet Family Dorsets. Over the years, she has raised and exhibited Dorset sheep at county, state, and national shows. Through showing sheep, she has developed a strong work ethic, learned the importance of responsibility, and built lifelong friendships within the sheep industry.

One of Alexis's favorite parts of exhibiting sheep is the opportunity to connect with fellow breeders and exhibitors while promoting a breed she is passionate about. She enjoys caring for her animals, working toward her goals, and helping younger exhibitors become involved in the livestock industry.

Alexis is honored to serve as the 2026 Iowa Dorset Queen and looks forward to promoting the Dorset breed, supporting youth involvement in the sheep industry, and representing Iowa Dorset breeders throughout the year.
